Hailing from Sardinia Andrea’s introduction to horses came by chance. With no family background racing, it was by accident young Andrea was introduced to riding through a friend. Andrea started his apprenticeship in Milan, with successful trainer Alduino Botti, father of UK trainer Marco Botti. After gaining experience and showing potential he had the opportunity to move to Newmarket and further his career. It didn’t take long before Andrea made his mark riding 30 winners from just 250 rides in his first season. 2013 was a successful season for Andrea riding 120 winners, including his first UK Group One winner, Kingston Hill.
