Philip Hobbs brings up a century of winners

Amlin Plus sponsored trainer Philip Hobbs is enjoying a season to remember after training his 100th winner at Exeter on 15 April.

Saddlers Encore brought up the milestone for the Hobbs yard in the opening novices’ hurdle after being given the verdict in a photo finish. The win was the first of the day’s milestones, as on the same day, Amlin Plus sponsored jockey Richard Johnson brought his 150th winner of the season.

The UK jumps season wraps up this Saturday, 26 April at Sandown Park. The all-jumps card is the official finale of the National Hunt season and features the Grade 1 Celebration Chase and Grade 3 Gold Cup. In Ireland, jump racing continues with one of the highlights of the season coming up, the Punchestown Festival from 29 April – 3 May.
