Racing ahead

The bloodstock market has been basking in the afterglow of a world record deal at the October sales of leading auctioneer Tattersalls, when Qatar’s Sheikh Joaan Al Thani bought the most expensive yearling filly yet for 5mn guineas (£5mn plus £250,000 commission).

The filly is the offspring of legendary Irish thoroughbred Galileo and its price broke the previous record of 4.6mn guineas fetched in Europe for a mare in 2006…download full article here.
